At Dramatic Adventure Theatre we change lives one story at a time. DAT has taken theatre out of the box and on an expansive journey around the world. We have broadened the theatrical landscape in NYC and created an international home for artists who want more than show business as usual. The theatre we are making intimately connects our artists with their muse (and vice versa!) through collaboration and shared experiences. This is not fluff, nor is this hit you over the head didactic, these are quality stories — exciting, moving, thought provoking, binge-worthy stories — that just so happen to center around very real local issues with global implications. DAT is rewriting the rules of Theatre for Social Change as an enterprise and as a genre while also taking Creative Nonfiction and Travel Narratives out of the hands of the elite and opening the stage for new voices. It’s incredibly refreshing to hear young, diverse voices/perspectives speaking to this moment. We are here to create a positive social impact in the lives of disenfranchised young adults and marginalized local leaders by lifting up, strengthening, and amplifying voices/stories that are not being heard through the noise — and have fun doing it! Together, we’re solving for real needs and creating tangible impact with the communities, artists, and audiences DAT serves — folks we know intimately and call friends. DAT has and will continue to play a part in pushing the theatre, travel, & social impact industries in the right direction. A life in the theatre typically restricts artists and admin to live in a handful of theatre towns. That’s not the case with DAT. We’re a hybrid company — we work remotely all around the world and gather in-person for specific projects.
Although we are mostly remote, we have hubs in 5 inspiring cities — Quito, Brno, Bagamoyo, Sydney, NYC with more hubs coming in the future!

DAT’s Professional Leadership Experience (PLX) offers opportunities for students, graduates, and early-career professionals from around the world to gain insight into the inner-workings of our organization, meet an international network of passionate creatives, develop one’s targeted skills, and gain field experience abroad. Both the internship and apprenticeship include a mix of hands-on experience, mentorship, and professional development.
