The PASSAGE Project
Where the journey changes the maker.
The PASSAGE Project
Where the journey changes the maker.
The PASSAGE Project is an immersive journey on which artists of any discipline hone their craft through cross-cultural exchange, professional workshops, international performance, and co-creation with global communities
Each PASSAGE Project gathers a carefully selected cohort of artists prepared to step beyond the familiar and into new creative terrain. Through travel, artistic exchange, and meaningful encounters with local communities and fellow makers, participants deepen their practice while discovering how movement, place, and relationship can shape the work in unexpected ways.
For artists at any stage of their journey, PASSAGE offers the opportunity to explore new landscapes, build lasting human connection, learn from artists across cultures, and create work born from lived experience. Participants can expect immersive cultural engagement, time in nature, collaborative workshops, creative development, and the chance to share their work with an international audience.
The result is not only artistic growth, but a richer understanding of how encounter can expand the imagination, deepen the craft, and leave a lasting imprint on everyone involved.
Upcoming Project:
PASSAGE: Slovakia
July 12 - August 2, 2026
Our upcoming PASSAGE project is an immersive three-week artistic adventure through Slovakia, culminating in an unforgettable evening of eclectic performance shaped by travel, cross-cultural exchange, and meaningful human connection.
This summer’s trek takes participants across one of Europe’s overlooked gems: Slovakia. From the vibrant cultural capitals of Bratislava and Košice, to the quaint village of Zemplínska Teplica, to the rugged mountains of Slovenský Raj, travelling artists will dig deep into their own creative process while training with multidisciplinary global practitioners.
Along the way, we’ll join our long-time partners ETP Slovensko in community-driven storytelling workshops with youth from one of Europe’s most marginalized communities: the Roma (at times pejoratively known as “Gypsies”).
The adventure culminates in an eclectic evening of shared work. Poetry, prose, film, performance — pieces of any genre may make their European debut as our artists present the creative articulations of their distinct cross-cultural journey.
Who can take part in a PASSAGE Project?
Each PASSAGE Project is open to artists of any discipline and at all stages of their creative journey — from students and emerging artists to seasoned professionals. We are seeking a talented and diverse cohort of makers who are eager to deepen their craft through immersive travel, cross-cultural exchange, and shared artistic discovery.
PASSAGE is for artists who are ready to move beyond the familiar and into new creative terrain — artists who long to encounter new places, form meaningful connections, and create work shaped by the people, landscapes, and questions they meet along the way. Whether your medium is performance, writing, film, music, movement, design, or something in between, PASSAGE welcomes those who are curious, adventurous, and ready for the kind of journey that can transform both the artist and the art.
