Global Apprenticeships
Are you an early-career arts admin who aspires to build or lead an innovative arts organization?
The Apprenticeship is a leadership development program for early-career arts administrators and theatre production practitioners. As an Apprentice you will participate in professional development seminars, cohort check-ins, and one-on-one mentorship sessions to best meet your personal development goals. This is a temporary paid position where you will serve as valued and instrumental member of the DAT staff for the season ahead. You will gain a much stronger command of your leadership style through practical learning experiences — which will include both independent and collective projects. Through hands-on experience, mentorship, and workshops, Apprentices are given the tools to become impactful leaders — be it the in the arts, theatre, eco-travel, or social impact space.

WHO YOU ARE
You are an ambitious go-getter. You are a quick learner who can take instructions and run with them. You are excited to develop skills and ready to put in the work.
You take pride in what you do. You care deeply about the worlds of theatre, arts admin, eco-travel, and/or social impact. You listen fully, read through details carefully, and consider every aspect of a stakeholder’s experience.
You are inspired. You have a strong belief that everyone’s voice and story matters and fight so that all can be heard.
You are scrappy and entrepreneurial. You thrive in fast-paced environments and are comfortable with not knowing the answer to something. You are willing to roll up your sleeves no matter what the challenge is.
You are action oriented. You make deadlines for yourself and move fast - favoring practical choices. You focus on the things that matter and push back on things that don’t. If something seems off, you come up with a good solution, and take action to fix the problem.
You enjoy your work. You love what you do, think about it in your free time, and often find yourself tinkering away at strange hours — not because you feel you have to, but because you’re so excited to make a positive impact in the world. Your favorite thing to do is to take on a huge challenge and pull it off.
You are a good soul. You value diversity and go out of your way to ensure others feel welcome and supported. You are a great communicator — with a fantastic sense of humor and a little charm. You enjoy hanging out with your teammates, have a low-ego, and make the workplace more fun for everyone.
