Olivia Kuper Harris hails from Dallas, Texas and is currently a Musical Theatre Major at Carnegie Mellon University in the class of 2013. In 2008, Olivia was Sarah Brown in Guys and Dolls and Hope Harcourt in Anything Goes. In 2009, Olivia was Rita LaPorta in Lucky Stiff, “Downbeat Magazine” awarded her the Jazz Vocalist-in-an-Arts-high-school-in-North-America Category Winner, she was an NFAA (Natl’ Foundation for Advancement in the Arts) YoungArts Week Finalist in Musical Theatre and Merit Award winner in Vocal Jazz, and she was a Presidential Scholar Semifinalist of the Arts. Also in 2009 she performed at the Grammy Awards in L.A. with the 8-voiced Grammy Jazz Vocal Ensemble. This past March Olivia won “Campus Superstar”, a region-wide singing competition in Pittsburgh with nearly 200 contestants. Olivia had a year of study in NYC at LaGuardia HS, has studied at Interlochen Center for the Arts in the 6-week program, Berklee College of Music twice in the 5-week program, the University of North Texas Vocal Jazz workshops, and Southern Methodist University Theatre Intensives. Olivia is trained in movement viewpoints and laban effort qualities, Alexander technique, a plethora of technical theatre, piano, violin and dance. Olivia has always been interested in integrating her love of travel and culture with theatre and camaraderie and is thrilled and grateful to be a part of this eye-opening and collaborative experience!
