J'nelle Bobb-Semple was born and raised in Queens, New York. Most of her family is from Guyana, South America, and because of the rich theatrical history of Guyana and the US, she has always been interested in theatre and how it is perceived around the world. This interest has led her to pursue her Masters in Applied Theatre from the Graduate Center at the City University of New York, where she studies how to use theatre to address social issues and promote social awareness. After Ecuador (and hopefully a trip to Rwanda!), J'nelle plans to focus her thesis on understanding our responsibilities as global citizens.
