Courtney Dusenberry is a recent graduate from Occidental College in Los Angeles, CA where she received a bachelor of the arts in Theater. During her undergraduate education, she worked both on stage and behind the scenes to create diverse and intelligent works of theater; she acted in, and was head scenic artist on, Oxy's production of Hair in 2009. She wrote for and acted in a festival of student written plays, which she also prodcued three years in a row. After completeing a semester studying arts and culture in Senegal, a small coastal nation in West Africa, she came back to Oxy and created an adapted version of Tenneessee Williams's "The Rose Tattoo" that incorporated West African theatrical traditions into the typically Western storytelling. Besides her institutional education, Courtney has been fortunate enough to have learned from her travels all over Europe, Africa, and South America. All of her time spent abroad has taught her patience and sparked a passion in her for understanding people and different cultures. She hopes to continue to cultivate her passion and expand her knowledge of the world and other cultures in all of her artistic endeavors.
