The "III acts" project is an amazing opportunity for playwrights to share their skills with communities across Zimbabwe while collaborating together to develop three original one act plays.

In June of 2011, three playwrights (two Zimbabwean based, one U.S. based) will travel across the country of Zimbabwe. They will explore both urban and rural life. They will dive in to Zimbabwe's history and culture. They will meet and get to know Zimbabweans from all walks of life. They will lead playwriting workshops within diverse communities. They will write "III acts".

The concept behind "III acts" is simple. Each playwright will write one of the three acts. Each act will tell a different story united by a common thread. Each story will tell of a great act made by a specific individual or group (i.e. an act of courage, an act of kindness, an act of desperation). Finally, these "III acts" made up of great acts will be enacted in a workshop production on July 28, 2011.

This production will be followed by a fundraising wine reception event to further DAT's projects in Zimbabwe. The reception will include a Q&A, meet & greet, slideshows, videos, and more. To buy your tickets in advance for both the production and wine reception, please click HERE.
